This 1967 Pontiac Gran Turismo Omologato is without a doubt one of the most iconic vehicles of its era. Ask any head what started the muscle car wars of the 1960’s they’ll tell you it was the Pontiac GTO — after all, it was arguably the first true American muscle car.
With that kind of history the Simon’s detailing crew was thrilled to see this ’67 GTO roll onto the garage floor. It was already a beautiful vehicle when it came in, but it still needed some work done to look its best for auction. The seller had one simple request: make the classic Candy Apple Red paint “pop” so it really stands out on sites like Bring a Trailer.
Upon inspection it was clear the paint had some wear and tear along with plenty of swirls. In order to get this GTO back to a factory look our detailers started off with a Level 1 Paint correction to remove the swirls and clear up the paint’s light haze, while also adding gloss for that extra “pop”. In addition to the Level 1 PWC, the owner also opted for an interior detail, as well as a full engine bay wipe-down. The team really knocked it out of the park on this one. Another job well done!
